The runway set of the Prada Fall 2020 Menswear Show resembled a Giorgio de Chirico painting, with two arched piazzas featuring a statue of a man on a horse in the middle of each one, pertaining to a classic 19th-century work of art. It would almost be too much, where the statues not made of cardboard. As Mrs Prada explains, “I wanted an equestrian statue, but of course equestrian is not politically correct, so I told Rem [Koolhaas], ‘Let’s do an equestrian that is totally non-heroic.’”
