New Luxury
For this new issue of the fair, Maison et Objet puts luxury front and center, allowing us to re-examine its many creative forms. Will you fall prey to the seductions of “Ûber Luxury” or “Lux Populis”?
With one foot firmly placed in the past and the other firmly planted in the future, the “Ûber Luxury” combines great workmanship with cutting-edge technology. Designers collaborate with scientists to develop materials, fabrics are adorned with silk, copper, and LED threads, sofas become fully connected products, and waiting lists for these increasingly exclusive items of desire grow longer.
The “Lux Populis” is fuelled by a generation that grew up with reality TV, Instagram, and TikTok, as well as an awareness of inclusive values, and rides the pop culture wave, drawing influence from street culture. Luxury enters the streets, “Master Chefs” on TV become cooking celebrities, limited-edition shoes sell out quickly, and street artists, like Banksy and JR, are suddenly gracing collectors’ living rooms as a result of this trend.
What’s New?
There are no fewer than four new places available for visitors! The What’s New? areas focus on a forward-thinking, curated selection of all that’s new this season, with products selected from the exhibitors’ collections.
