Simon Rawlings, Creative Director of David Collins Studio, says, “I’ve always wanted to design food retail.” It may surprise you that a firm that has designed stores for jewelers David Morris and De Grisogono, as well as fashion labels Jimmy Choo and Alexander McQueen, and created the timeless look of restaurants like The Wolseley and Cecconi’s, has taken so long to enter the world of high-end food shopping. However, if David Collins Studio commits to a project, it will always be the greatest.

Lewis has worked on a growing number of international projects since joining David Collins Studio 12 years ago. Lewis has a particular fondness for the FF&E sector of his job, having started out as a furniture designer with a penchant for well-crafted furnishings ingrained in him as a child during visits to his grandfather’s antique shop. Lewis highlights the need of establishing a distinct identity while building retail spaces, as well as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on retail design.
