Frieze London: A Trade Show You Can’t Miss!
Frieze London: A Trade Show You Can’t Miss! – In 2003, Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover established Frieze London, with Eva Langret serving as the director. The fair, which only features contemporary art and working artists, is one of the most significant contemporary art fairs in the world. It is held each October in London’s Regent’s Park. A team of world-renowned independent curators advises on feature sections, enabling performance-based work and ambitious presentations by emerging galleries. The fair’s exhibiting galleries represent some of the most exciting artists working today, from the emerging to the iconic.

The fair emphasizes contemporary artists and cutting-edge practice. Over 160 of the most important galleries in the world will participate in the fair’s 2022 edition. Frieze London runs concurrently with and is close to its sister fair, Frieze Masters, which is located in The Regent’s Park. While Frieze London primarily exhibits work made after 2000, Frieze Masters offers a distinctive perspective on the relationship between historical art and contemporary practice by showcasing work created before that year.
The free Frieze Sculpture exhibition, which connects Frieze London and Frieze Masters, is situated in The Regent’s Park’s English Gardens at the southern end of The Broadwalk. The works for Frieze Sculpture 2022 will once again be chosen and installed by Clare Lilley, Director of Programme at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. From mid-September to mid-November, Frieze Sculpture is free and accessible to everyone.
Over 60,000 people have visited Frieze London and Frieze Masters together annually for the past few years. Along with members of the general public, these visitors included those with an interest in the art world, such as curators, artists, collectors, gallerists, and critics. Others view the fair more as an exhibition and come as first-time art collectors, taking pleasure in the event as a cultural day out.
In addition to its main gallery section, Frieze London will have three sections (Focus, Editions, and Indra’s Net), while Frieze Masters will have two additional sections (Spotlight and Stand Out).
