Cristina Celestino – Going In-Depth

Cristina Celestino and her studio work on a variety of projects, including residential, hospitality, and commercial work, as well as creative direction and product design. They value natural observational freedom as well as an erudite, curious, and playful approach. A strong scientific and aesthetic curiosity, combined with an obsession with material and geometry, allows them to move across history and traditions, altering the scale of objects and creating new conceptual and decorative canons in which nature speaks to them in unison. They combine a transdisciplinary approach with analytical rigor, resulting in surprising spaces, objects, and experiences.

Brutalist Residence Club

The interior design was inspired by the building itself, as is typical of our approach, and the materials and colors used by the original architect, Massimo Camillo Bodini, were referenced. As a result, the communal stairwell’s soft shell-like pink is echoed in one wall of the apartment’s open-plan living room, which served as a starting point for both the custom-made, two-tone kitchen and the warm palette of peach, orange, and terracotta throughout.

Cristina Celestino’s Office

The furnishings are an eclectic mix of pieces designed for companies in the décor, complements, and coverings industries, flanked by prototypes and collectibles. Textures and materials from different eras coexist in harmony: an accumulation that is partly spontaneous but also the result of research and historical knowledge, as well as a manifesto of our creativity and design method, in an engaging and familiar working space.

Inspired by the theme of the “Caffè Concerto,” this project pays homage to the city without nostalgia and reinvents an iconic gathering place. The project includes the interiors, shop windows, and outdoor seating area, and it touches on every aspect of the pastry shop, from the staff uniforms to the design of several desserts, as well as the details of place settings at the tables.

Planetario

Cristina Celestino Studio: Projects That Move Across History!

Planetario, a Besana Carpet Lab project, was designed and developed to highlight the identity and distinctive features of wall-to-wall carpeting. Planetario is an exquisite ode to the past glory of carpeting while also looking forward. A scenic retro-futuristic setting welcomes visitors in a dream-like domestic atmosphere inspired by themes of space and its antithesis, the underwater world, elements of which can be found in Cristina Celestino’s latest collection.
