This 2013 documentary produced, shot and directed by Zachary Heinzerling tells the story of the 40-year old marriage of two distinct artists. Ushio Shinohara, a neo-Dada artist who paints by punching his pigments, and his white Noriko, who created Cutie, a comic-book character, featuring original artwork by the couple. The Design Movie focuses on the quirks and sacrifices the artists make during their marriage, such as Noriko abandoning her career for years to take care of their son Alex.
Exit Through the Gift Shop: A Banksy Film
Directed by the infamous street artist Banksy and narrated by Rhys Ifans, this British Design Movie tells the story of Thierry Guetta, a French immigrant living in Los Angeles, and his obsession with street art.
