Luxury Fall Trends 2016/2017
After the major fashion events worldwide had wrapped, it’s time to set up the Fall trends for 2016/2017. The biggest trends of the season are an exquisite curation from the catwalks shows staged at London, Milan, New York, and Paris Fashion Weeks by the best fashion designers and the best high-end fashion houses.
Corsetted waists
Emphasis on the femine form was elongated with accessories like gold plated belts or as corset pieces. Elsewhere, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu and Givenchy all emphasised the waist.
Cold Shoulders
Quite a number of shows featured the off the shoulder look, whether that was with ladylike dresses, heavy knitwear, or even in outerwear pieces.
80’s Revival
Designers looked to the recent past with looks inspired by the eighties, showing puffed shoulders to flouncy silhouettes, including the hair style from the last century.
Sequins
Sparkling is a new fashion trend, and the party girls next season will be wearing sequins top to toe, as seen at Dolce & Gabbana, Erdem, McQueen, Moschino, Valentino, Rochas, and so on.
Velvet
Velvet is the bigger fabric trend for 2016/2017, but feeling fluid rather than fusty. Velvet dresses in particular were the mainstay of many a collection: ruched and sexy at Preen, more ladylike at Prada, darkly alluring at Dries Van Noten. Black was, by far, the most popular color.
Leopard Prints
On runways leopard was most often used in outerwear, but it showed up on an array of accessories, as well as in knitwear and dresses. Let’s take a walk on the wild side.
Military chic
The military trend occupying the fashion scene this season, but most notably, an highlight to the military jacket revamped with added bows, pompoms and oriental prints.
