MATERIAL BANK: IT HAS NEVER BEEN SO EASY TO SOURCE AND SAMPLE MATERIALS
Every architect and designer is aware of how important it is to have material samples on hand when presenting their concepts to clients. But getting these samples is frequently a challenge! In a similar vein, it is quite challenging to maintain the material library of an agency. More than 500 manufacturers and more than 100,000 architects quickly joined the Material Bank platform after it was introduced in the United States in 2019. It has all the necessary components right now, a few weeks before its arrival in Europe, to entice manufacturers and designers. Join speakers Axel Schoenert (Architect & Co-Founder – Axel Schoenert architects), Marius Hamelot (Co-founder – Le Pavé®/ sasminimum), Sara Ibrahim (Architect, Interior Designer & Senior project manager – Axel Schoenert architects), Philippe Brocart (CEO – Material Bank Europe) and Karine Vergniol (Journalist) in this conference about The Material Bank platform in Hall 7 at 5 pm.

MADE IN SITU: A DIALOGUE BETWEEN MATERIALS, TERRITORY, AND KNOW-HOW
Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance has in a sense invited himself to do a design residency in Portugal since arriving there in 2017, where the availability of traditional materials and knowledge is still particularly abundant. The “Made In Situ” project originated entirely organically from this immersion. Via its numerous chapters—to date, black ceramics, burnt cork, and tiles —Made In Situ explores a variety of geological, artisanal, economic, and cultural landscapes through the lens of the designer. A travel journal with expandable drawers that may be used in France or elsewhere… You can find them in Hall 7 at 2 pm.
THE GALLERY: A PLAYGROUND FOR INTERIOR DESIGNERS
Big personalities in interior design are increasingly turning to furniture-making as an addition to their private or public projects and preferring to display their creations within their own personal galleries. A distinctive environment, an atmosphere, a display of technical expertise, a connection with their clientele… These novel spaces are increasing their options, fostering their creativity, and boosting revenue for their organisations. Michel Bismut & Daniel Mismut (Architects & Co-Founders – Bismut&Bismut) are among the personalities that will host this conversation in hall 7 at 12 pm, make sure not to miss it!
SPANISH DESIGN, NEW CREATIVE BLOOD
Marisa Santamaría, a researcher and authority on international design, will describe the specifics of a dynamic period in Spanish design that is connected to the global context. Along with two of the exhibiting designers, Max Milá and Álvaro Aramburu, she will also speak with Xavier Franquesa and Álvaro Matas, two of the leaders in the promotion of design in Spain.
Together, they will discuss the Spanish design scene at the moment and identify the traits that unite and define the next generation of Spanish designers. Don’t miss them at 11 pm in Hall 7.
