Meet the Speakers Of The Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit 2018

The Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit 2018 is only a few weeks away. It’s time you meet the renowned speakers that will participate in the event.

We’ve already told you all you need to know about the event, where it will take place, the program, and the role arts will play in the design event.

Now we’re presenting the speakers that will make this 2-day event even more amazing!

Let’s start with The Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship. This is one of the biggest names of the Summit, but also a renowned name in the design world. For those who don’t know, the Michelangelo Foundation is an international non-profit entity that celebrates and preserves master craftsmanship and strengthens its connection with the world of design. A valuable addition to the event’s first edition, the foundation will present their plans and inputs on how to assure the preservation of the design and craftsmanship across the planet!

The Portuguese Luxury and Watchmaking Association is another renowned guest speaker of the first Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit. It’s a private company which represents approximately 60% of jewelry production in the North of Portugal, where we can find Porto and Gondomar. It associates approximately 400 companies and encompasses goldsmiths, jewelers, watchmakers and other associated fields. They are strong advocates of Craftsmanship and Luxury Design and that’s why they will have a lot to add to this edition.

Speaking of luxury, Vista Alegre and Topázio will also be present at the Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit as guest speakers. They are two of the top Portuguese design companies and they both respect, honor and elevate the craftsmanship values with their amazing products and collections. For those who don’t know, Vista Alegre is one of the oldest porcelain manufacturers in Europe and it’s also one of the most popular ones in the porcelain industry. The same goes for Topázio. This brand has been dominating the jewelry industry for over a century.

The Fashion Industry will also be represented at the summit. The Storytailors, one of Portugal’s most iconic Fashion Designers/Brands, João Branco and Luis Sanchez that are the leaders and the main creators of this stunning Fashion Studio will be at the event.

Representing the luxury furniture brands will be Boca do Lobo, whose pieces of furniture are an exclusive, emotional and creative experience to anyone. So get ready to be presented with a complete know-how experience of how to elevate design and create stunning handcrafted pieces.

Last but not least, the Ricardo Espirito Santo Silva Foundation will also be a part of the event. The Foundation is responsible for the Museum of Portuguese Decorative Arts, but also for two schools where several craftsmanship Arts are taught and kept alive. Who better than this Foundation to take part of a celebration of craftsmanship and design? So don’t miss this Summit on the 20th and 21st of June.
