Taking A Look At Rose Uniacke’s Works
The Buckingham
A remarkable amount of light and brightness has been created in this apartment by carefully considering every aspect of the design. Rose was hired to create an interior with subtly modern twists on a traditional design. From the expansive first-floor drawing room, which creates an unrivaled formal entertaining space and is positioned to overlook the neighboring Palace, to the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows that allow light to flood into both the living areas and bedrooms, every detail of the layout and design has been carefully considered.
Holland Park Apartament
Internationally renowned designer Rose Uniacke is renowned for her mastery of light and space as well as her pursuit of rigor and refinement. Rose draws on historical influences for her intricate yet approachable artwork, which combines a restrained richness of character with warmth, serenity, and timeless elegance. The Holland Park Villas are intended to exude subtle luxury and sophistication. Rose connects the interior spaces to their dramatic exterior context by using natural materials and organic textures. Through the full-height windows, soft drapes frame views of the lush park, fusing the inside and outside.
Marylebone Apartment
In this exquisitely balanced apartment, an important collection is given room to breathe and shine. This central London apartment from the 1940s needed extensive renovation. The client’s extensive collection of art, books, and music needed to be housed and displayed, so the design brief called for open, roomy space. Rose designed a space that is both lively and relaxing at the same time. It is beautifully balanced.
Richmond House
Roses’ sensitive approach to the restoration of a significant listed building, originally constructed during the reign of Charles 11, then expanded during the Georgian period, is exemplified by this imposing manor house in Richmond, London. This is a bright, peaceful family home with uncluttered spaces, and an understated air of refinement and elegance, where the past and the present coexist peacefully. The old building’s structure is respectfully and discretely incorporated with contemporary luxury.
Godwin House
E.W. Godwin originally constructed the home between 1878 and 1879 for Frank Miles, an Oscar Wilde friend and society portrait artist. The current owners wanted to acknowledge and respect the home’s history while also building a modern, functional home for their active family. This was not an academic recreation of history. Rose began by removing the layers and additions, restoring the spaces’ original purity, architectural integrity, and authentic spirit while bringing in new functionality and a timeless quality.
Mayfair Apartment
This apartment was created by Rose at the request of a private client who wanted a straightforward, cozy retreat. It takes place in the attic of a historic building in central London’s Mayfair that had lost a lot of its original historical details. Rose wanted to produce an interior with charm, interest, and softness in a setting that was relatively simple. She included a fireplace wall with built-in bookcases and log storage in the main living area, as well as a custom-built wood and marble kitchen that can be divided from the dining area with opulent yet unobtrusive drapes.
