Audrey Hepburn‘s private collection will be showcased and auctioned by Christie’s in London later this month.

Audrey Hepburn, a true Holywood legend, is known for many things but one that stands out is her impeccable sense of style.  The most awaited items in the auction are obviously the contents of her closet but there are also other types of items as film memorabilia and photography.

The price tags might be over the top but the auction serves as a unique archive of the life of the Holywood star. It also gives the fans a rare opportunity of seeing and buying into Audrey’s closet.

As it is expected from one of the world’s most admired style icons, some of her most coveted pieces will be in the auction. Besides this blue satin dress by Givenchy, there will also be a 70’s red silk coat from Valentino and a Burberry’s trench coat.

There are a lot of the designs that the fans will co crazy over as this Givenchy two-piece that defines her chic style perfectly. This lovely set was used for the 1963 Charade. It was one of her favourites and she wore it even off screen, proving that she loved fashion in the big screen as much as in real life.

Tiaras were a big statement in Audrey’s closet. This one was worn to a movie premiere in 1959 London. We bet she looked incredible with this gorgeous jewellery piece.

“If she loved an item, she kept it and all the clothes in the auction are the things she really loved. She invented the little black dress, but she was also fairly obsessive about shoes. ‘If you’ve got wonderful shoes, nothing else really matters,’ she believed.”

If you’d love to own some of the items from her private collection, the auction will happen at Christie’s King Street headquarters on the 27th of September.
