Discovering The XSS Studio
XSS – Extra Small and Small – The name reveals its talent for turning a well-thought-out plan into a highly successful reality while meticulously inspecting every nook and cranny.
Catherine Cheung is always pushing the limits of architecture and design. Catherine’s works are based on her strong belief in balancing aesthetics and functionality. She works hard to understand who her clients are, how they live, and what they want in order to creatively design a space that fits their profile.
For Catherine, design is an art, and creating seamless flows between different zones with meticulous attention to detail is what transforms the most basic space into a true masterpiece, whether it’s a residential, commercial, landscape, or architectural project.
What Do You Think Of XSS’s Works?
Her passion for design enables her to overcome obstacles and distinguishes her projects from the competition. Cheung’s architectural, interior, and landscape designs all have distinct personalities.
The philosophy of XSS is simple yet sophisticated: a point is the source of all forms. The first dimension is the trace of a line left by a moving point. As the line leaves the familiar and shifts in a variety of directions, it forms a ‘plane’ or two-dimensional element. When the plane is extended in an oblique or parallel direction to its surface, it forms a three-dimensional volume. Geometry’s fundamental elements are the point, line, plane, and volume.
Geometric shapes and dimensions can be formed by a variety of elements, ranging from octagons to rectangles, and straight or curved lines. Geometric shapes, when used creatively and tastefully, can combine to form a truly unique and awe-inspiring design.
